68 PAUD Deaf Students Participated in Coloring Competition

Tens of deaf students from Santi Rama Early Childhood Education Center (PAUD), at Jalan Kramat VII, Senen, Central Jakarta, participated in coloring competition. It was held as the commemoration of 2015 Jakarta Kids Reading Day (Hanjaba).

All drawing colored are purposely chosen about books. As it is closely related to Jakarta Kids Reading Day, thus they would love reading and books

Head of Jakarta Library and City Archives Agency, Tinia Budiati stated there were 68 students participating. The competition was divided into 4 categories, that is 3, 4, 5 and 6 years old.

"All drawing colored are purposely chosen about books. As it is closely related to Jakarta Kids Reading Day, thus they would love reading and books," she stated, after she opened the event, Monday (9/14).

She disclosed her party wanted to give a chance for kids with special needs to express their skills to many people. “Although they're just kids with special needs, they must be having talents," she disclosed.

Coloring competition is also conducted simultaneously in some TK/PAUD in the city. Eventually, the champion will be given gifts in form of some guidance money and trophy. "For the gifts will be handed directly by Jakarta Governor when the event peak at City Hall on October 1," she explained.
